  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
    1/4 cup granulated sugar
    2 teaspoons active dry yeast

  • 1 teaspoon salt
    1 cup warm milk
    1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

  • 1 egg, beaten
    1 cup raisins
    For glazing (optional):2 tablespoons milk

  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar


  • In a large mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.
    Gradually add warm milk and melted butter to the dry ingredients. Mix until a dough forms.
    Add the beaten egg and continue mixing. Gradually add the remaining flour until the dough is smooth and slightly sticky.
  • Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until it becomes elastic and smooth.
