250g paneer (Indian cottage cheese), cubed
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons oil1 large onion, finely chopped
2 tomatoes, pureed
1-inch piece of ginger, grated3-4 cloves of garlic, minced
1 teaspoon red chili powder (adjust to taste)
1 teaspoon ground coriander1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon garam masala
1/2 cup heavy creamSalt to taste
Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
Directions
- Heat oil in a pan on medium heat. Add the cubed paneer and shallow fry until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
In the same pan, add butter. Once melted, add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown. - Add grated ginger and minced garlic. Sauté for a couple of minutes until the raw aroma disappears.
Add the tomato puree and cook until the mixture thickens and the oil starts to separate from the sides.
Stir in red chili powder, ground coriander, turmeric powder, garam masala, and salt. Mix well and cook for a few more minutes. - Pour in the heavy cream, stirring continuously to combine all ingredients. Let it simmer for 2-3 minutes.
Add the fried paneer cubes to the gravy and gently mix, ensuring the paneer is coated with the masala. Let it simmer for another 5-7 minutes on low heat. - Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
